What is this ?:
This is a plugin for vdr, the linux video disk recorder from Klaus Schmidinger, this plugin allows the display of digital images, like jpeg, tiff, png, bmp and some more, on the TV screen, using the DVB out device from vdr.
Since vdr is a mpeg2 only software all images have to converted to mpeg2 stillpictures, thus it can not be compared to a dvd player supporting jpeg images. In turn this plugin allows for more flexebility, which will be made extensive use of, in future versions. The release 0.0.8 is an enhanced version of the vdr-image plugin 0.0.5a, to update and extend this to version 0.0.8 is a combined effort from Interpohl, A.Brachold, O. Kreuzinger, the vdr-portal.de members and the vdr mailinglist. Various people have helped and inspired the latest changes. But still all is based on the mp3/mplayer plugin and the vdr-image 0.0.5a plugin. Thanks to Stefan Huelswitt and Kai Tobias Burwieck. But now for the real thing, the download.
